GIL-TEX STAMPEDE SALE (3/2005)
The Teixera family, Rick & Paula Bovre, "The Utah Syndicate",
Elegance Futures partnership and Chris and Jennifer Hill.

First Choice out of Krull Broker Elegance x Mutually Agreeable Sire
sold for $43,500 during the dance at the Gil-Tex Stampede.

(from L to R) Gilbert Texeira, Mr & Mrs Bill Hagemann, Norman Nabholz,
Kelli & Tom Cull, in the back, Ken Elliott and Chris Hill

This past weekend, all the stops were pulled out for the Gil-Tex Stampede Sale, as the late March event totalled one million dollars!  As the sale closed on Saturday afternoon, BKB Cousteau Anna, an 11/03 Cousteau from Shoremar S Alicia (3E-97) was the top seller at $35,500. Consigned by Gil-Tex Holsteins, Anna was just flushed a week prior to the sale and made four embryos. She was the purchase of Markwell Holsteins of Washington.

The second high seller at $30,000 was a Durham daughter from Ruann Encore Corry (VG-88), Ruann Durham Corry-10713, also VG-88. Consigned by Ruann Dairy, she was purchased by the Kansas partnership of Woods and Rottinghaus. The average of 120 lots was $8,101. But at just $18,000 shy of a one million dollar sale, Wisconsin breeders Budjon Farms and Joel Kietzman decided to help out the Teixeira family. At the post sale dinner and dance, Budjon-JK donated a choice of Krull Broker Elegance (3E-96) by MAS. This show aged choice would be the last first-choice offering from Elegance ever sold. Chris Hill resumed auctioning duties at 9 pm, and by 9:05 pm, there was a new top seller of the Gil-Tex Stampede at $43,500. The Utah buying syndicate of Randy Marriott, Alex Pappageorge and Mark Tatarka were a part of history as they purchased the last first-choice offering from the Queen of the Breed finalist!

The final average turned out to be $8,475 on 121 lots. The sale was managed by Great Northern Land & Cattle Co.
